Joey Lawrence - Publicity Photographer

Joey Lawrence (born November 5, 1989 in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada) is a young professional photographer who currently resides in Brookly, New york.He is best known as creator of the Twilight movie posters.

Joey Lawrence started entering photography competitions in DPChallenge in 2004 using a point-and-shoot digital camera. It wasn’tlong before his extremely beautiful photos were winning and it then became obvious he was blessed with the talent he found out he had was all meant to be. He was this producing Educational DVDs to aspire photographers, then he gradually moved on to taking photos of bands asking for $50 and concert tickets in return. His professional career developed quickly and then he was taken on by London, New York. Some of his clients included Warner Bros, salvation Army, United way, and NBC etc.

I chose him and his work because i really thought he has an abnormal, unique type of publicity photography, i really enjoy looking at them because there real fascinating, stunning, and i admire his work.

Peter Rodgers - Publicity Photographer

Peter Rodgers is a Southern california bases commercial photographer specializing in partnerships with businesses and as agencies to create innovative photographic solutions for advertising and marketing needs. Peter has a vast range of experience to meet a cliens photographic requirements. More than twenty-five years as a professional photographer has provided him the opportunity to the encounter various photographic situations and locales, including assignments in 23 contries world wide. They even said that the Queen’s visit to their county town to swing 30 feet up a tree to capture images for a companies website.

1st Poster analyzation - Mamma Mia

Release date; July 18th 2008. There’s a lot of different kind of personality and style in the poster. Such as it looks as if there is going to be celebrations, dancing, love singing etc.. Looks really posh and bright, brings such a happy atmosphere. In the film it isn’t all as the poster seems though, there’s a lot of drama involved its not all just happy ever after, which does make the film a whole lot more interesting. The film has a lot of famous actors and it shows them on the poster too because it grabs peoples attentions really quick and has more people wanting to see the film because of that person. Age in this film is suited to anyone, i think its a real good family film to watch. Its aimed at anyone who loves to watch Romance and it is actually a bit of a musical. 

It relates to our real life’s, because of the activity’s and the feelings we have are all in this film. We Celebrate, we love, we cry. Everyone loves to party, some people really like Abba music. This is a Comedy, and on the poster it also is written to be quite adventurous as it says ”Take a trip down Aisle you’ll never forget”

2nd Poster analyzation - Taken

Release Date; 28 September 2008. It has the main character in the poster who is very famous so it’ll catch attention instantly. The poster is a dark place nearly like a horror type, but in the film its not. If you see closely, you can see a lady faded into a building, this keeps the viewers admiring for a while. The film is for over 18’s only, this poster can be brought by anyone. Mostly boys that’s a fan of watching crime, fighting I’d think, same with the film as I think its more of a man film than a girls.

This film is quite related to us because we have had crime for a long time and it has real human like feelings, as in we would do anything for the ones we love, it is of course all possible in our day. The Lighting of this poster looks really foggy, a really dark atmosphere that gives viewers a more exciting idea about the film. This film is a Crime, although i would of thought it would be quite a horror from the way the poster looks like, and the big red bold title down the side of it, but in the film its really not it is mainly about a kidnap and full of action scenes. 

3rd Poster analyzation - Insidious

Release Date; 29 April 2011 The poster looks terrifyingly scary to me! you immediately know this will be a Horror film by looking at the woman in the center of the poster, how she has been made to look like, and how the red thin lines with streaks of black to add more effect. You instantly look at her face as soon as you see the poster,  this film is shown to anyone over the age of 15, which i think should have a higher age limit in my opinion. Anyone who is a fan of horror films, but i think this film is more aimed at men because of the atmosphere and the lack of colours.

The film is made by the producers of ‘Saw’ and ‘Paranormal activity’ which are both gory and scary… So this film was made by quite a big company. Although is film isnt realistic, atleast i hope not, it does show the feelings we get for the people we love like we would sacfice ourselves for them. The atmospher in both the poster and the film is very unpleasant, its quite weird in a way, but the film has a great storyline!

Everyone will obviously tell its a horror film, because the woman gets my attention straight away and im pretty sure it does the same effect to others. This film is exactly a Horrible Horror, a Thriller! Really enjoyed watching this though :)

4th Poster analyzation - Unleashed

Released Date; 19 August 2005. The poster shows most of the main characters involved in big, and a couple of other actors small, this i think is a good idea because it really helps to know what the films about and shows good actors to make the poster more appealing. It grabs peoples attention instantly and it has a great actor involved, Morgan Freeman. This film is for over 18’s, i think this film is mostly aimed at men because its crime, fighting, and has a dark atmosphere.

This film poster shoes nothing unrealistic, everything don’t is natural to our time, such as kidnapping, gambling, Crime etc. It is very alike to our world today. Big bold writing in the center to make the viewers attract right onto the center of the page. The poster is kind of a sepia colour, there’s a lot of pictures and writing involved, the poster looks really crowded and busy, if i had to guess what kind of film this would be id know straight away it’ll be some kind of crime, action packed scenes, and that’s exactly what happens in the film. I think this film is once again mostly action. I was right, but its also got a bit of drama involved too.

5th Poster analyzation - Edward Scissor Hands

The poster actually has quite a scary effect with his scissors of hands and the scars of his face, but the film itself isn’t actually even scary, it had one dark place out of the whole film for a short while which didn’t have much of a scary effect, in fact the film i thought was quite humorous but has a few drama scenes. Johnny Dept is in the film which then he wasn’t really known, but he really is a very successful actor so everyone would know him in our day.

I think the age range of this film is about 12 and over, and i am correct. I think its aimed for mainly girls, as its quite a drama, but it can be an enjoyment to a lotof boys too!. This film poster doesn’t look as if its going to look realistic, it gives me the feeling it will be quite fake and stupid, but its actually really good. The atmosphere this poster gives me, i think straight away the films going to be scary but its completely different to that. It weird, and i think quite unique as you wouldn’t see many horrors etc with someone with scissors as hands, if so then they wouldn’t be as nice as that characteris made to look like.

I would think this movie, by the cover, unusual and a thriller, and really quite scary because that’s what the message beings to me, the the hands and how has been made to look. The locations in the film looks really colour and bright, a small town where everyone knew each other, it reminds me of pleasant ville, looks like there’sno such thing in crime there. After seeing the town, we see the location of the dark, webby, abandoned mansion, for a short period of time. This film is not as it seems in some posters, the film is a Drama, bit of a fantasy and Romance.

What I did to make my own Pinhole pictures

I used quite a big camera to take my photos, I did a total of 4, but i lost 2 of the best ones i took, typical. I remember i took 50 seconds on the first one i made, which i still have, but it didn’t turn out so great so i took another picture but half of the time i did which was 25, then another of just 10 seconds. They turnt out a lot better but unfortunately i lost those ones. I took one more inside the College, i did it for a long 2 minutes and 30 seconds, it turnt out completely white with just a few black prints on there which isn’t so interesting to have. 

I have learnt that it is so much easier to take these kinds of pictures outside than it is in, I would have liked to of made more because I found it really interesting and would of liked to of maybe used another camera but a smaller one. I would like to make another one inside too some time, because that way the length of the time ill make it will be much shorter than i did before, just to see any difference, better or worse.
